Lucca

Today we travelled to the Tuscan region of Lucca, a quiet medieval town. Our EF Tour Director; Claudio, gave the group a short walking tour inside the city walls, pointing out many piazzas (squares), Torres (towers) and gelatarias (gelato shops)!

Lucca consists of many towers, in medieval times wealthy families showed their status by building high towers, the higher the tower the more wealth the family had.

The afternoon was spent riding bikes atop the city walls, eating gelato in the sun and walking the winding streets looking for hidden gems!

Next stop Florence!
